Following the start of industrial action on Thursday 12 December, TfGM made what they describe as an ‘improved and final’ offer on Saturday 14 December. UNISON and Unite suspended the industrial action and held a joint members’ meeting on Monday 16 December to discuss it.
Emails are being sent to members for an electronic ballot, without a recommendation to accept or reject. The offer is here and a summary here.
The ballot closes at midnight on Sunday 22 December 2024 and the combined UNISON-Unite result will be declared the following day.
If the offer is accepted, increases and back pay should be in the January pay packet. Reps would follow up on the family issues and start consulting members for next year’s pay claim.
Should the offer be rejected, the planned industrial action would resume from Tuesday 24 December 2024 and the unions would seek to reopen negotiations with TfGM, although there is no guarantee that TfGM would reopen them as they have said that this is their final offer.
